Hello TCR Community ~

There are some big changes happening in our community that we would like to bring to your attention.

1) HOTEL RENOVATIONS: TCR has been holding weekends at the Best Western Hotel in Eagan since 1989.  As you might have noticed during your weekend, the hotel is in need of some upgrades.  The NEW owner of the hotel has informed TCR that they will be starting a renovation of the hotel starting January 1, 2025.
2) GOODBYE TINUCCI'S:  The NEW owner of the Best Western Hotel also owns the Green Mill Restaurant in Bloomington, MN, and they have informed TCR that starting December 1, 2024, all food must be catered by them. We are feel sad to say "goodbye" to Tinucci's restaurant who has been our "go-to" caterer for many, many years.  Please continue to visit their Newport restaurant location and support their family-owned business.

3) 2025 WEEKEND SCHEDULE:  TCR Board has decided with the construction at the hotel, and some other factors, that in 2025 we will be reducing the number of weekends TCE sponsors per year from 6 down to 4.  The dates for 2025 weeks will be:  April 4th, July 18th, September 5th, and December 5th.
4) PRESENTERS NEEDED: TCR is in desperate need for more Weekend and POST presenters.  We urge you to please pray, and if the Holy Spirit moves you, please consider becoming a presenting couple. 
We are all "Wounded Healers."  

If TCR doesn't get more presenting couples, we will need to make the change to 4 weekends a permanent decision. 

There are only a few presenting couples left in TCR, and they are feeling burnt out.  We need your help!  Please consider becoming a presenting couple. 

Training is available!  Writing outlines are easy to follow!  Contact any board member for additional information.  Without more presenters, the Post Sessions will end up being a video series for hurting couples to watch instead of lively and engaging group discussions.  The need is real.

5) OPEN BOARD POSITIONS:  Volunteers are needed for the TCR Board.  Effective January 2025, there will be 4 open positions:
  • TCR Community Coordinator
  • TCR Post Coordinator Couple
  • TCR CORE Coordinator Couple
  • TCR Volunteer Coordinator Couple
Mike and Ann have served on the TCR Board for 6 consecutive years, and as part of the TCR Bylaws, they are required to step down for a year.  

Jim and Vicki have served on the TCR Board for 2-1/2 years as POST Coordinators.  They have done an amazing job and we are sad to see them leave. 

Please pray for the Holy Spirit to discern if the Holy Spirit is calling you to join our ministry.

Angel Helpers Needed

How would you like to repeat the Retrouvaille weekend with your spouse?

Help with details behind the scenes during the weekend. Tasks include helping serve meals, clean-up after meals, running errands if needed. Your cost is $0 to attend the weekend.TCR will cover your hotel cost + meals. Please prayfully consider helping.

Your main duty....work on your marriage.

Friday Night Greeters
"Greeter Couples" are requested to help on weekends with the Friday Night Couples (FNC's). 
Enjoy complementary dinner with Retrouvaille friends, then help escort FNC's to their hotel rooms.
Goal:  Talk to FNC couples and help them relax.  Check to make sure that both of their key cards are working.  Provide encouragement for the weekend.  Confirm that they have made a good decision to attend.  Tell them when you made your weekend and maybe share how Retrouvaille helped heal your marriage.

Would you like to become a Mentor Couple?

Two of our most important goals in Retrouvaille are helping hurting couples and developing our TCR community. Here is a chance to do both! 

TCR is starting a Mentor Couple program similar to efforts in other successful communities.  
What is a Mentor Couple?
Mentors are TCR couples who have been through a weekend and the Post sessions. They connect with new Friday night couples to provide a supportive link to TCR and its programs. 

What are the qualifications?
If you have been in Retrouvaille for a year and want to help other couples, you qualify! Being good listeners and working well together as a couple are particularly helpful. 

What will Mentor Couples actually do?
The Friday night couple you are helping will receive your contact information and a short bio. They will be expecting a text from you in the week following their weekend to set up a call. This is a chance for them to stay connected to another couple who has shared their weekend experience. As with all Retrouvaille, this is not therapy, but a listening ear and an open heart.

Mission Statement

Twin Cities Retrouvaille is a Christian peer ministry that, with the help of God, teaches communication skills and offers a support community to couples experiencing pain and disappointment in their marriage relationships. 

Vision Statement

The vision of TCR is to build a healthy, vibrant, and expanding community which provides a nurturing environment that inspires Retrouvaille couples to grow in support for each other, other couples, and to reach out to other communities.
